Do you listen to music on game day or as you’re preparing for matches?
I don’t typically listen to music when getting ready for a match. I prefer to sit with whoever is with me and we may chat or just hang out. I don’t feel I need to get pumped up for my match in that way.
When are you most likely to listen to music? Do you listen to different kinds of music depending on the time of day, or your mood?
I love listening to music. I’ll often play music in my room rather then have the TV on. I like streaming radio from the internet so I don’t get sick of my own music. I always listen to music when working out in the gym, especially for cardio sessions; that’s when I can’t live without music as it makes the time pass way faster and keeps me going.
What are five albums that you couldn’t live without?
> Florence + the Machine – Lungs
> Foster the People – Torches
> Mumford & Sons – Sigh No More
> INXS – Kick
> Sia – We Are Born
Do you attend many gigs or concerts? If so, what have been some of the most memorable?
I really enjoy going to concerts but haven’t been to many recently. A few of my favorites have been, Elton John and Billy Joel, Pink, Sheryl Crow, Live, and Green Day.
In your time on tour, have you met any iconic musicians or any of your favourite singers or bands?
I was lucky enough, way back in 2005 or 2006, to be part of a charity night with Elton John. It was amazing to be part of it with him, Billy Jean King and the likes of Martina Hingis, Anna Kournikova, Andy Roddick and Lisa Raymond, to name a few. I was able to be there as I was partnering Lisa in doubles at the time.
