Sam’s Osaka blog
Sorry it has been so long between blogs. The Asian swing has not gone to plan for me and I’m looking forward to finishing the year on a high. Doha is the last tournament on my playing calendar. I arrived today from Osaka at 5:30am and I’m struggling to stay awake tonight.
Today I hit once on centre court with a young local tennis player. Dave arrives from Australia tomorrow so I think he will be very tired so I have booked in two practices, let’s hope he gets through it!
Today was a very dry heat, it felt like there was a hair dryer blowing in my eyes but I remember from last year it can also be humid.
Vera and myself are the only players here so far but I’m guessing the rest of the singles girls will arrive tomorrow. Very different feeling at this tournament as there is only eight singles and four doubles teams. No fighting over lockers or practice courts this week. :)
Doha is quite the opposite to Osaka with the amount of people and the choice of restaurants. Going out for dinner and exploring the city was the highlight of my day in Osaka. I have always loved travelling to Japan. I think everyone should try a tuna triangle from one of the convenience stores located on every corner. (Lawsons and Family Mart are my favourites) Here are a few photos from Osaka.
